APS360H1: Applied Fundamentals of Deep Learning
testimonials
By ChemEng 2T6 + PEY
Difficulty: 6/10
Professor: Justin Beland
Session Taken: Summer 2024
This course teaches the theory and application of neural networks. Some topics covered are CNNs, GANs, and Transformers (the thing that runs ChatGPT). The course project has you coding your own deep learning model with the goal of having it contribute to your CV. If possible, I highly recommend taking this course during the summer. The summer lectures are recorded, the midterm is online, and the workload is far more manageable. The summer midterm average was 83.3%, and the final course average was a B+. Overall an important fundamental course, especially for those seeking to do anything related to AI and data science.
