This course covers a lot of the fundamentals of biology, (proteins, DNA, analytical techniques (PCR, Western Blot ... ) etc... ). The course is heavily weighted towards the final, which was 60 % in my year. The midterm average was a 76.9 % ,so fairly high. A lot of the focus is on conceptual understanding/memorization for the tests rather than calculations. Our course average was a B+. If you're thinking about taking the Bioeng. minor, this is obviously a prerequisite but it's fairly easy but important for future bio courses.
